Thinking State league, or whatever level each West Valley [fill in age group / gender] played in last season. Looks like a marketing franchise gimmick to me.

  3. They simply paid a franchise fee to be “affiliated”. They are not really with PSG. They pay to use the name. Another gimmick. Crazy how parents fall for this thinking they will be going to Paris to actually train with PSG “Academy”. Once west valley can’t pay their franchise fee, well, they will be west side soccer club again. Oh not to mention, they have to buy all their gear directly from PSG as any other franchisee would. Can’t wait to watch these parents get nickel and dimed all so they can have the alusión of saying they are with a academy. I wonder when those PSG trainers will be showing up. Don’t hold your breath.
  4. No different than when Sereno was affiliated with Chelsea or AZSC Thunder with Bayern Munich. Makes for a really expensive jersey lol.

I don't know about the AZSC deal, but the Sereno/Chelsea deal was not franchise fee based. Sereno did not pay any money to Chelsea. The only teams that wore the Chelsea kit were their top boys & girls teams from U14 up. As far as I could tell it was more of a branding thing on their website. There was a summer camp with Chelsea academy coaches (you had to pay to attend) also. All in all, much ado about nothing.
  6. I don't know about 1st team vs 2nd team having to buy them, but I do know my kid was U13 and I had to buy that expensive jersey.

We had a kid tryout for my sons team and get offered a spot then come to find out he turned our team down because the new PSG team said they could get him a tryout in France. I swear I wanted to bust up laughing when we heard that. PSG is claiming to be the best club in the West. They tried to recruit a few players away saying that they could move into advanced leagues if enough of those players go to them. Clearly they don’t know how things work and they think doors will magically open because they paid to use the name. Silly club.

speaking of advanced leagues and how things work, I noticed in an age group that at least one if not two ECNL teams applied to advanced leagues. They didn't put the ECNL acronym on the team name. Will they get a slot?

That’s interesting. Which age group/gender? Wondering how you know they’re ECNL teams if not listed as ECNL? Is the list of teams applying for advanced our already?
  10. I didn’t thinkECNL teams can play in another league. They can play in other tournaments. Did this rule change for the upcoming season

It was up showing applied teams and then it was disabled. It was U19B the coach name is strictly an ECNL coach

I don’t know the rule but when I saw the team and the coaches name I figured I’d ask because I’m ignorant to the ecnl rules

It says “elite” not ECNL in the standings.

Semantics... It was their ECNL team, my kid's team played them 4-5 times I think between APL and Tournaments.

So they played in ECNL and APL? Maybe pre ECNL?

I saw the Arsenal 08 ECNL team. My son played against them in ECNL league and we saw the same team playing in APL games.

Interesting! I see they have the same roster for APL and ECNL. I wonder how and why they’re allowed to do this!

They probably entered b/c they weren't sure ECNL would even happen due to COVID. It was their full fledged ECNL team I know some of their parents. They did not expect to finish 4th behind three "no-letter" teams (Rising West Valley Meadows, CCV, and Excel).
