I figured since the Arizona Advanced League thread turned into a full on discussion about 06 Boys, I would start a thread to discuss the girls. Overall the placing seems fair, below are my predictions for top three finishers in each group:

    APL -- 1. FC Tucson 2. CCV Stars 3. Premier 06 Black

    SL1 -- 1. AZ Arsenal 2. AYSO United 3. AZSC 06 Girls Gwinnett

    SL2 -- 1. Premier NW White 2. RSL Soutar 3. PRFC Colavita

Feel free to add your predictions!!

    APL:

You're giving CCV a lot of credit for a team that finished 2nd in ASL1. They will need a big upgrade to finish 2nd. I don't think they finish in the top 3.

FC Tucson keeper is BY FAR the best 2006 keeper IMO. Bella is a BEAST! I could not believe she wasn't poached by RSL DA but now with the death of DA who knows. If she's still there as well as the core group, they will be tough to knock out of 1st place.

The Premier Black team is in tact - and has been together for a number of years now. They will be contenders again.

ASL1: agree on your top 3.

ASL2: Play-in games will have an impact.

**You're right about CCV, I may be giving them too much credit but they do a hell of a job coaching up over there. Premier Black is solid and will definitely be 2nd or 3rd in APL. As for SL1, I think that the first place finish will come down to a showdown between Arsenal Teal and AYSO United (it's a toss up). The team that doesn't make SL1 will be a player in SL2 for sure.

May i suggest moving this to the age specific thread? That way it wont get lost amongst all the other topics

posted the same information in the Age specific thread...

    My predictions:

    APL
    1. Tucson. Haven’t seen them play but the record is great. Automatic qualifier. Will take someone’s word for it about the keep being a beast. Plus best team out of Tucson,
    2. Premier Black: Great record last year and now coached by Ramiz...
    3. Premier NW: Upgraded keeper on an already formidable team

Watch out for: Kenton (PRFC). I am a prfc dad (not this team), and have seen this coach work with his kids. He is new to Phoenix but has a really good track record in Iowa (I believe it was Iowa). His coaching style is engaging and he gets into it. The girls respond well to him. Some additions here, and some subtractions. I believe the subtractions and additions were more about fit than talent. This team was heavy on the defense on holding mids last year. I believe they tried to balance it out.

    ASL1
    1. Teal..Love the speed of this team. Some of their players last season should have been ECNL players.
2, Sylvestre. Honestly teams one and two here could easily flip flop.
    3. Gwinnet
Watch out for Excel. They have this young lady at center forward who is so talented...I believe her initials are SC, she singled handedly destroyed our team last year and when they get up coach moves her back to center back and she kicks butt there as well. They did lose their keeper, so that’s a potential weakness (no idea who the new one is and what skill level is etc)

    ASL2
    1.Excel if they don’t get into ASL1
    2.Prfc (i am biased)
    3. Soutar

Watch out for Not sure here.

You don't have to worry about that in this forum. ;) There is rarely enough people posting here vs lets say the socal forum.

Does anyone know what happened to the GYSA team (AQ from POSOL)? I am assuming they turned down or didn't apply for AS2. Anyone know why?

This marks 2 years in a row they have not applied after getting the "AQ" spot.

Don't understand it at every other age they have teams that seem to apply.

Are they a "No Sunday Team" ?

Don't think so, DD has played them on a Sunday multiple times over the years.

APL/ASL cost is significantly more than POSOL - especially if your club will pick up the ref and field costs for POSOL games. Maybe they just don't want to spend the cash??? Especially this year in particular. Who knows if we'll even be playing games...

I think the Premier 06G Black is the team to beat. Premier is strong on the Girls side as they keep teams together. RSL, Arsenal, PRFC, SCDS have constant churn as players move up and down to the the elite teams (ECNL, GAL, ECRL, DPL). Premier and Thunder keep the same teams and try to upgrade positions. They may not have the most talented players but they will have chemistry built across a couple of years and come out of the gate faster than the bigger clubs.

I would agree TJ but just as an aside the prfc team minus two players is the exact same team for the last 2-3 years. Definitely keep an eye out for them. Dark horse imo

I heard CCV picked up two SCDS DA players, one being the GK and three Premier NW players. They just might be a formidable team.

Good pick up. Looking at the roster I think you're right. That definitely makes this a very exciting division

    2 Premier players.

One of the Premier players that went to CCV was an ECNL discovery player this last year. CCV made some good pickups to improve their roster.

It’s definitely 3, only two are wearing their Premier shirts in their roster photos.
