Well since we have threads for ECNL and DA. Might as well add one for DPL.

Here is the link to their upcoming schedule for the year.

Looking at the teams/clubs quality wise it appears they have some very good teams. Granted they have some very average to poor teams (based on So Cal standards) as well.

The DPL season ends in June which is well after tryouts. And lots of single game weekends especially for the Utah Royals (RSL).

Well you are right. I had to look that up. The Royals end the first weekend of June. To be fair however ECNL also ends after tryouts. Their last games for the AZ teams are the 18/19 of May (Royals also have games that weekend). So they have one more weekend of games vs ECNL.

None of the above counts playoffs, assuming the AZ teams do well enough.

If you still have games in May or June you can still tryout for any team after May 1 correct? Or am i wrong about that?

That is my understanding. DA may be different.

State Cup, regionals, DA, ECNL and now DPL go on after tryouts, this isn’t new.

The DAs are having tryouts in Jan & Feb, the May 1 magic date is gone.

Does anyone have the scores to the DPL games played on Sunday for the AZ teams?

del Sol had at least a few of their DPL teams at the Chicago Cup. RSL had at least a few of their teams at Blues Cup. They are rescheduling the games they were supposed to play vs each other this past weekend.

I heard the Chicago Cup cancelled the tournament due to bad weather so if Del Sol was going to play their DPL games in that tournament, all those games will need to be re-scheduled.

Based on the list of teams the tournament shows, there were not any other DPL clubs entered. They were just going to play a tournament, much like RSL was doing in Blues.

Thats a long way to travel for start of the year tournament when college soccer already started so you wont have much college coach exposure

I certainly do not think DPL is over-inflated.
    - The teams (RSL and del Sol) play So Cal competition that is usually better vs APL competition. I always believe that to get better you need to play the appropriate competition.
    - The DPL has the clubs/teams participate in some very good college showcases (Silverlakes, Players, and Legends).
    - On a side note realize DPL, ECNL or DA are travel teams. The costs associated with travel will make playing more expensive vs staying in APL. On the other hand I think the girls traveling with teammates, playing games, hanging out at hotels, create life long memories.

Thank you for your response. I agree that the DPL is a great experience. At the level of DPL, however, one has to be realistic and emphasize that they are playing for the experience rather than for the end result of a possible college commit. When attending showcases, the college scouts do not appear to be visually attending to DPL games which truly places the whole DPL hype into perspective. Has anyone observed this as well?

And, has there been any movement between DPL and DA players this year?
