2019-20 Scheduling Webinar
On Thursday, July 25th at 12:00pmET/ 11:00amCT/ 10:00amMT/ 9:00amPT we will be hosting a scheduling webinar to go over all of the information you will need pertaining to scheduling. At the conclusion of the webinar, we will open the collaborative scheduler which will allow your club to enter times and locations for your home games as well as make date modifications to your schedule with approval from your opponent and the Academy. The re-schedule period will be Thursday, July 25 – Wednesday, August 14. After this reschedule period, fixtures should not be rescheduled for any reasons except inclement weather. Until this webinar concludes, schedule requests should not be submitted to the Academy and the collaborative scheduler will be turned off.
All clubs are required to attend this webinar. You can join the scheduling webinar by clicking here. Though you shouldn’t need it, the event password is “DA2019.”
Girls Schedule Update
The 2019-20 Girls regular season schedule has been posted to our website and is now available on the Schedule/Results page. Your schedule will become available on your team pages when those are turned over from the 2018-19 season to the 2019-20 season later this month. Your regular season schedules do not have any games scheduled on the weekends of September 28-29 and October 12-13. These weekends are reserved for Cup games that will be added in the coming weeks.
Boys Schedule Update
We are in the process of finalizing the 2019-20 Boys regular season and Cup schedules. We anticipate all schedules being released before the end of July. The U-15, U-16/17, and U-18/19 schedules will likely be posted a couple of days before the U-13 and U-14 schedules. As discussed in June at the Academy meeting, we are utilizing a new scheduling format for U-18/19 this season, which is taking a bit more time to finalize. We recognize the urgency in getting these schedules released and appreciate your understanding. Please note that after receiving your feedback, we will not be scheduling any Academy games the weekend of August 24th. Games will begin as early as August 31st.
Boys schedule is posted:
RSL-AZ 06 DA Boys played friendlies in L.A. vs. 3 DA clubs this past weekend. They beat LA United FC 06 DA 2-1, Real So Cal 06 DA 3-2, and drew LAFC 06 DA 2-2. The result with LAFC is a very promising result since LAFC is considered to be one of the top 5, if not the best, 06 team in the U.S.
Not the best in the US. That would be Pipeline from Maryland.
I don't think they have played one other since LAFC is DA and Pipeline's 06 team is not, but based on Pipeline's result against FC Dallas' 06 2nd team in the USYS Championships this year, I think LAFC is a better team. Not much data to go on, unfortunately. Would be great to see them both on the field.
So to your point, because Pipeline is not “DA” then technically they are not as good as “DA” teams? You did say there was no much data to go off of except that one is “DA” and the other is not.
I did not state that Pipeline is not as good as DA teams, just not as good as LAFC. I did some research last night to see if Pipeline 06 had any matches on YouTube and sure enough their full match vs. Michigan Jaguars (2019 USYS National Championship match) was posted. After watching that game and having watched several LAFC 06 matches, I would give LAFC and other top 06 DA teams (Total Futbol Academy, for one) a strong edge. I'm interested to hear other perspectives.
Has LAFC played this Michigan team? Just curious if we are able to compare apples to apples.
I’ve seen Pipeline play in the past year and was seriously impressed, but I haven’t seen LAFC so I can’t really comment.
I believe the Michigan team played in last year's Surf Cup. They beat 3 DA clubs and lost to TFA in the finals. TFA and LAFC are considered to be the 2 best 06 DA teams in the West. LAFC 06 has some games posted in YouTube for those interested in watching them play.
Boys DA season in AZ about to kickoff this weekend. Del Sol and RSL 06s and 07s will face each other.
Anyone out there have any insights into these match-ups?
I think these will be very exciting games. I know the RSLAZ 06 boys played some DA friendlies in LA last month going 2-0-1, beating Real So Cal and LAUFA and had a draw with LAFC. I've heard that SC Del Sol has been tuning up with Barc Academy and some went to England to play and train with a few academies. I'm predicting an RSLAZ 06 win over SC Del Sol based on how they did last month against LAFC.
The RSL 07s played in the Man City Cup in May and went 2-2-2. They beat San Jose Quakes and Sporting KC, draw with Real So Cal and Strikers, and lost to LAFC and NYCFC. That same weekend Del Sol won the Cerritos Memorial Challange beating some pre DA and ECNL teams and LAUFA DA in the finals.
RSL 07 also played in DA friendlies last month beating LAUFA and losing to LAFC and San Diego SC. This one is tough to call but will pick Del Sol over RSL.
The Del Sol 06 DA team added 2 players from RSL-AZ North's State Cup team and 2 players from PRFC's top team. RSL-AZ 06 DA team added several players from Classic and Tucson to their core RSL North and South players. It should be very entertaining with high-quality play.
Both 06 and 07 DA matches will be played at REACH this Saturday morning.
Anyone got the scores from RSL DelSol?
RSL 07 beat Del Sol 2-1. Evenly matched, good talent on both sides.
RSL 06 beat Del Sol 6-1. RSL dominated from the start. Margin should have been a lot larger.
Thank you for the score of the 06 game. It still was not posted on the USDA website. Now that the AZ teams have faced each other, it's time to see what we've got against the San Diego clubs.
Did del Sol 06 just have an off day? or is RSL that much better?
They were definitely that much better. The one goal del Sol did have was a fluke.
Not saying that del Sol doesn't have skilled players, but the overall size and athleticism of RSL is going to be too much for a lot of teams to handle.
In defense of the 06 Del Sol team, only a handful of 05 teams in the state could keep up with that RSL AZ team. A lot of skill, athleticism, and size. And competitiveness. They will be fun to watch.
